Mizoram Rahbi - A Seed Grant Competition

A seed grant for aspiring startups and startups. In order to promote self-reliance and tap the entrepreneurial potential of the State and to facilitate generation of employment through startups, the Startup Grant or "Mizoram Rahbi" initiative will provide a "stepping stone" for early-stage entrepreneurs and beyond who are yet to gain traction through grant of micro capital. This assistance will be administered through a fair process to assist sincere enterprises that will potentially in turn contributes to the socio-economic development of the State. The cascading effect of forward and backward linkages of these ventures is also expected to generate significant direct and indirect employment. The overarching objective of this initiative, besides financial assistance to turn ideas into action, is to spread awareness on entrepreneurship among the masses in general and to promote it among the youth in particular. The initiative goes further by putting in place a mechanism for monitoring the progress of the ventures funded under it, provide institutional and knowledge-based support and scrutinize whether the fund granted is being utilized properly. 

Eligibility

a) Aspiring Startups and startups registered in Mizoram, in the early stages of their business journey. 

b) Must demonstrate a clear need for seed funding to take the next step in business development.

Funding

a) Micro capital grants will be disbursed in tranches based on milestones. 

b) Regular progress reports and audits will be required to ensure proper utilization of funds. 

c) Access to mentorship and additional resources will be provided to help startups grow. 

d) Maximum funding amount shall be Rs.7.5 lakh per Startup. Funding amount may be amended by the Executive Committee of Mizoram Start Startup mission. 

e) Release of funds may be made directly to the vendors wherever applicable.
